Yellow and Grey Coordinates

These are fabrics I selected for Chickadee Cottage, a little vacation cottage in a series of designs that are themed. Everything in the house will be colored and designed to emulate the beauty of the Chickadee. I was going for quaint, natural, bright, clean, and possibly bird like.
Here are some techniques you can use when you are working on a group. First, don't be timid. Lay down several fabrics that you generally like. If some compete, start another group. Eventually one of the groups will harmonize and create a "family" more naturally than the other.
Next, set some limits in color, style, and texture. Here, nothing is shiny, but we do have some raised surfaces. None of the fabrics have sharp edges to the pattern. Two are linen like. They're all informal.
If you struggle getting enough coordinates, take one of your favorites and reinterpret it with another fabric. For instance, the white/ grey fabric here is less than the floral which has a third color. It's like the branches scattered into another pattern. Or, tighten up the grey and white idea and get the smaller ogee pattern. Only the embroidered scroll here is a big surprise!
If you are shopping in my store, let me know if you need something that isn't shown. I'm happy to suggest up to 5 coordinates for you without any design service charge.
