All orders are either special orders or custom orders. Orders are not cancelable.
Service available: We offer customer service to answer questions AND to make design suggestions to help you make confident decisions. Up to a half hour of design time is available free of charge to any person seriously considering purchasing from our store.
Special Orders: Except for one of a kind bedding and draperies that we make, very little is kept in stock at Design Nashville. When you place an order of merchandise online, we then place an order with a supplier who fills the order. These are special orders placed on your behalf. Once placed, the order can not be canceled. Some items are ready to ship at the supplier warehouse, others are subject to lead time. Some of our suppliers make inventory levels known to us, and we can check stock before you order. Please note that with the fluctuation of shipments and labor shortages, many suppliers experience surges of incoming merchandise. It may take a supplier longer to get the merchandise into shipping during surge times. You may also want to read about backorders. We will make inquiries with our suppliers only when we believe it is appropriate. We value our suppliers and will treat them with respect with the intent to maintain our relationship with them.. We will not unleash anger at them or make unreasonable demands at your request. It is expected that designer merchandise is sufficiently desirable to wait patiently while suppliers fill orders.
Custom Orders: If an item has to be fabricated after receiving your order, it is custom made. Most custom orders include details you have selected. All bedding and drapery custom orders are subject to lead times of a minimum of 5 weeks, but the lead time can be considerably more depending on the orders in house and the availability of materials. (See Backorders). Some custom products are made by artisans that we subcontract. They are in charge of their processes and lead times. We will communicate with you about timing, but we do not work under "deadlines". All work proceeds in an orderly, professional manner. We will provide estimated lead times upon request, but they are subject to change at any time. We rarely have the ability to "speed up" an order. Lead time estimates are not promises to deliver at a specific period of time. There are no refunds or adjustments available to "compensate" for " lengthy" lead times. Custom orders are made by artisans of varying skill levels. Typically, the higher the skill level, the greater the variation in lead time. Pinch pleated draperies for instance, have a more predictable lead time than swag draperies assuming materials are available when the order is placed.
Offline Orders: Contact us to order merchandise that is not shown in this online store or for unique custom orders. Payment methods accepted are Venmo, Square Cash, Apply Pay, Google Pay, Visa, Mastercard, and personal check.
Drop Shipping, and Shipping Lead Times: Merchandise is drop shipped from my suppliers. Orders of higher dollar amounts are subject to the lead time involved in payment processing and funds availability before the order enters the fulfillment cue. Suppliers are in charge of their processes and shipping. Lead times to shipping vary greatly with the least at 1-3 days before the order goes into shipping. . Some suppliers ship once a week or twice a week. Some work with inventory surges making lead times to shipping vary quite a bit. Actual shipping time is determined by the carrier. Please note that while expedited shipping may be available, changing the lead time to shipping can't usually be shortened and that lead time may be more than the actual time the order is in transit.
Advance Orders: We accept orders in advance of available inventory for new product introductions, items expected into inventory, and orders for items known to be backordered. If the order is high ticket, we will accept your order with a deposit. The balance would be due when the order approaches availability. However, if you would like to use buy now, pay later providers, we do not want to initiate an advance order as it could complicate our responsibilities to the financial provider. We would want to write the order only when the item becomes available in that circumstance. Please note that some suppliers experience greater demand than they can fill, and that specific products may be continually back ordered. In order to obtain such an item, you would need to place an advance order. Many chandeliers are in that category currently.
Backorders: A backorder is when an order is not available to ship within the normal time for that item. We are able to check inventory of most items in our store before you order. Please feel free to inquire. If you would like to order something that is known to be on backorder, we will accept your advance order (see above.) If you order on the website, and we find that the item you have ordered is backordered more than 2 weeks beyond the normal lead time to shipping, we will notify you of the backorder. If the item does not become available within 4 weeks, we will refund your order unless you want to continue to wait for the order. Please note that custom orders that are not yet filled are not backorders. However, a material for a custom order may be backordered. If a material is unavailable for more than 4 weeks, you will have the opportunity to reselect materials. Limited design service is provided free of charge to select a substitute material. Custom orders are never cancelable.
